Coaches Page

Thank you for volunteering to coach East Lansing soccer! We hope you will find it to be a very fun, rewarding experience for you, and your players.

East Lansing Soccer Club has two different coaching levels. The first one is the Recreational Level, and is geared toward teaching players the basics of soccer, as well as fostering good game play habits and skills. The second level is CASL (Capital Area Soccer League), a competative soccer league where the level of play is increased. As a coach, there are different requirements for each level:

Requirements for Recreational Soccer

  • Any interested person is eligible; prior soccer experience is helpful, but not required and on going training is available.
  • The head coach must be 18 or older.
  • A background check is required.
  • A positive attitude and non competitive approach is a must.
  • Assistant coaches are strongly suggested for all teams.

Requirements for CASL Soccer

  • Candidates (18 years or older) must submit an application/resume to the East Lansing Soccer Club Board of Directors for consideration in the spring for the following season.
  • The head coach must be 18 or older.
  • A background check is required.
  • All CASL coaches are required to have an E License obtained within their first year of coaching CASL soccer.
